Tweet reveals LG-made smartphone leaked by TENAA is not the G4 Pro/Note but the “V10”
LG execs have confirmed that a new high-end smartphone would be unveiled towards the end of the year. This mystery smartphone is believed to be the LG G4 Pro; some believe that the device will be called the LG G4 Note. Recently, an unannounced handset was leaked on TENAA, the Chinese equivalent of the US FCC, which was believed to be the LG G4 Pro/Note. A tweet, however, is now saying that the name past reports have leaked was inaccurate. It reveals that LG may planning to call the device by a different name instead.
Not the LG G4 Pro/Note, but the LG V10
The tweet comes from serial leakster Evan Blass (popularly known as @evleaks on Twitter), who is known for leaking accurate information on yet to be announced devices. Blass points out that there is a “V10” logo printed on the back of the device, which suggests that this is the final name of the device – “LG V10.” This also suggests that the device pictured above will not be named the rumoured LG G4 Pro/Note.
TENAA usually leaks specs apart from images showing unannounced devices. In this case, however, specs were not mentioned. Fortunately for us, Blass says that the LG V10 will sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which is the same resolution offered by the 5.5-inch screen of the LG G4. He also says that the V10 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53, two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 418 GPU, which is again the same processor of the LG G4. Other rumoured specs mentioned by Blass include a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 64 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and 3 GB of RAM.
Here’s where it gets more interesting. According to Blass, the LG V10 will sport a secondary screen. It is said to be located above the main screen, underneath speaker grill, and to right of what is believed to be the front-facing camera and front-facing flash.
So when will LG launch the LG V10? The phablet is expected to be released sometime in October. Pricing is yet to be determined, but we’re not expecting the device to be affordable, judging from the specs Blass leaked.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this information with a pinch of salt.
