The Lucid Blue edition of the recently launched Sony Ericsson T707 has now been made available unlocked and SIM Free, the new blue colour variant joins the black Sony T707 which was released just last week.

The Blue Sony Ericsson Takes all of the features and technology of the original black Sony T707 and simply exchanges the casing colour for a new translucent blue finish, with the front LED panel lit up the overall effect is stunning to say the least.

The SIM Free T707 is unlocked so that you can use a SIM card from any network provider be it either pay as you go or contract, the advantage of this type of mobile phone ownership is that you are not tied into a contract period or network operator giving you complete freedom over how long you wish to keep your phone for.

Another piece of good news is that because there are no networks involved in the selling of the SIM Free Sony Ericsson T707 there are no credit checks to pass, this will appeal to anyone currently experiencing a poor credit rating, it all allows you to buy the Sony T707 Blue as a present if you know anyone deserving of such a lovely looking handset?

Although not the highest specification device from the manufacturer and not in the same playing field as the Sony Ericsson Satio or Sony Aino the T707 does offer a good feature set, the phone offers Quad band support for global roaming, fast data speeds thanks to HSDPA, 3G compatibility, multimedia player, Bluetooth and an expandable memory.

There’s also a web browser, Google Maps, email client, RSS reader, picture and video blogging and all of this is packed into an extremely compact 95g handset. There is also another, more female focused clamshell design phone on its way from the manufacturer called the Sony Ericsson Jalou, not quite as rounded as the T707 but a definite alternative option.

A new flip phone has today been released by Sony Ericsson unlocked to all networks, the Sony Ericsson T707 is the latest clamshell design handset and features a very cool glossy exterior with smooth curves including a sweeping circular design encompassing the external display.

The Sony Ericsson T707 has been released as a SIM Free handset, this means that you can insert your own SIM card into this new Sony Ericsson phone and retain your contacts, account details and of course that all important mobile number, initially available in its black colour format the Sony T707 will also be launched in Blue and Rose colour variants very soon.

This is a move away from Sony Ericsson’s normal model numbering with all previous flip phones holding the Z-Series badge, the T-Series is more commonly associated with the candy-bar range. The T707 offers a lot of personlisation features using lighting effects, as an example you can program the phone with different effects for incoming callers, the Sony T707 also automatically changes its themes between night and day.

Although this first release of the Sony Ericsson T707 is a more masuline black version the next two models are more focused towards the female persuasion, we probably wouldn’t go as far to say that the T707 is a ‘girlie phone’ though as this black edition looks great for both men and women.

It’s not all about looks though, the Sony T707 is a 3G device supporting HSDPA data allowing for fast download speeds, there’s also a 3.2 mega pixel camera, web browser, email client and support for YouTube and Google Maps built-in.

All this is squeezed into a very lightweight 95g and with 16 days of standby time the Sony Ericsson T707 is compact and functional, if you’re looking for a phone that offers a subtle but stylish design with essential features in flip format this the T707 could be for you. Bearing in mind that clamshell designed handsets are no longer as available as they used to be this is a welcome addition to Sony Ericsson’s portfolio.
