After lots of mock-ups, bodged photoshops and rumoured sitings there are now some ‘live’pictures of the new Sony Ericsson P5 and it looks great!

Confirming the 5.0 megapixel camera and th glossy front facade these pics show the Sony P5 (Paris) with a ROKR-style keypad that will not be to everyones taste and may take some getting used to but otherwise it looks very sleek.

Still no official announcement from Sony Ericsson for a release date, enjoy and comments please!

Rumours around the mobile phone forums have been centred today around the release of the new Sony Ericsson P5i high end smartphone. Moving on from where the Sony P1i left off this new device boasts a 5.0 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, a 2.8 inch VGA Touchscreen display, integrated GPS, 128MB RAM, WiFi 802.11b/g, around a 520mhz processor compatible with Windows Mobile 6.0, 160MB internal memory and HSUPA aswell as HSDPA for fast uploading aswell as downloading.

Sony Ericsson claim that the Sony P5i will be around 125g lighter than the P990i

The design is very much like the current Sony W910i offering slim dimensions and a slide out keypad, rumours are that the handset still needs further work and that the official release date could be around May or June 2008 – bit of a wait for such a nice looking and high specification handset. The original announcement date was due today, 15th November but has been pushed back, rumours are that there may be a meeting to discuss the official announcement next week.
