POST UPDATE: Sony G900 Now Available SIM Free

After reporting that the CPQ group had published their release date for the new Sony Ericsson G900 we can now reveal that another major retailer has also added the phone to their site. Play have now published the Sony G900 with an ‘in stock” release date of the 9th June 2008.

The SIM Free version of the Sony Ericsson G900 will be unlocked to all UK networks, consumers will be able to buy the phone outright and insert their existing SIM card to retain their current mobile number and account information.

The Sony G900 is the latest Sony Ericsson mobile phone to incorporate a touch-sensitive screen with a standard bar-form design. Appearing as the next stage upwards from the G700, the Sony Ericsson G900 will be compact with a thickness of only 13mm and weighing just shy of 100 grams. In terms of its capabilities, this phone is up there with Sony Ericssons flagship cameraphone, the Sony K850i. Included is standard 3G; Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile and USB connectivity. With its in-built 5 Mega Pixel camera with autofocus, image stabiliser & flash, the Sony Ericsson G900 will be perfectly capable of taking outstanding images in all situations. As a music-phone, the G900 Sony Ericsson still manages to outperform its mroe focused rivals thanks to its TrackID recognition; FM Radio with RDS and support for Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards as well as the integrated memory of 160Mb.
