For the time being it’s just a rumour but wouldn’t it be great if Samsung did unleash a Qwerty version of the Samsung Omnia.  The Samsung Omnia Pro, assuming the rumours are true, would ship running on Windows Mobile 6.1 with the option to upgrade to the newer WM 6.5 operating system when it becomes available later in the year and would of course feature a full slide-out Qwerty keyboard. 

From the mocked up picture we’ve seen, it suggests that the Samsung Omnia Pro would literally fly off the shelves based on its design alone.  Equipped with a 5 mega pixel autofocus camera the Omnia Pro supposedly boasts a large 3.5 inch touchscreen with WVGA resolution and with it presumably all the goodies such as a built-in accelerometer sensor, handwriting recognition and so on and so forth.

One would also presume that as with the Samsung Omnia HD the Samsung Omnia Pro would also include the capabilities for full HD video recording but that remains a mystery for the time being.  With rumours of a similar design to that of the HTC Touch Pro and the yet unreleased HTC Touch Pro2 and following in the footsteps of the Samsung i900 Omnia and Samung i8910 Omnia HD models, it seems only fitting that Samsung should release a new successor and why not the Samsung Omnia Pro. 

Whether or not the rumoured Omnia Pro will get renamed before any official announcment we will just have to wait and see.  Presuming that the rumours are in fact all true though, and we do hope so, we look forward to bringing you more details as they are released.

One of the most talked about mobile phones of 2009 has now been released on Orange pay monthly deals in the UK, the i8910 HD which was originally named the Omnia HD can now be connected to a range of Orange contract tariffs from free.

The new Samsung i8910 HD lost its Omnia name for its release as the manufacturer felt this would confuse consumers thinking this new Samsung phone was related to the previous i900 Omnia range, in fact this new model offers a completely different user interface and so didn’t really ever belong in the older series.

The i8910 HD on Orange is already available with a range of free gift packages including the new Nintendo DSi, a DAB Radio, Sony PSP, Xbox 360 Elite and even a free Dell Inspiron Laptop, if you an above average mobile user then you may be able to take advantage of these free gift deals that demand a higher line rental with more inclusive minutes and text.
