You can now pre-order the Motorola Moto X Force in the UK

We learned from a previous report that Motorola was planning to launch the Droid Turbo 2 in Europe as the “Motorola Moto X Force.” Now, the device is available for pre-order in the UK.

Handtec and Carphone Warehouse are the two retailers who have put the Motorola Moto X Force up for pre-order. Handtec is asking £497.99 (VAT included) for a SIM free version of the device, while Carphone Warehouse is asking £529.99 (VAT included). Carphone Warehouse is also offering the device on monthly plans starting at £37.50 a month. Only the black colour option is being offered. If you pre-order the device now, it will be delivered to your doorstep on the 9th of November.

Unfamiliar with the Motorola Moto X Force? The smartphone sports a 5.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which works out to a pixel density of 540 ppi. The screen is protected by Motorola’s five-layer ShatterShield technology, which guarantees the screen will not shatter within four years of use. Additionally, the scratch-resistant AMOLED screen found on top of the aluminium chassis is of the flexible type that bends upon impact instead of cracking. Storage options include 32 GB and 64 GB versions. It also comes with a microSD card slot. Its camera combo consists of a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera (Sony IMX230 sensor) with a dual-tone LED flash and F/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for snapping selfies and video chat are on board. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, with cores clocked as much as 2 GHz, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It features a 3,760 mAh battery that charges fast with Motorola’s TurboPower charger. It runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box, with the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update to roll out to the device in the near future.

The Motorola X Force features a flat front and arched back. In the middle is an aluminium chassis. It measures 149.8 x 78 x 9.2 mm and weighs in at 169 g. The smartphone is protected by a liquid-repelling nano coating, but isn’t fully water-resistant. It will not survive being completely submerged in water.

If an Android-powered high-end slider made by BlackBerry is appealing to you, you can pre-order the SIM free version of the device from BlackBerry UK for £559.00 (VAT included). According to BlackBerry, the Priv will start shipping out to people who pre-ordered the smartphone on the 9th of November.

Since BlackBerry is yet to reveal all of the device’s features, you must be wondering if the curved screen on board the Priv serves a purpose. The good news is it does. According to a recent leak, the edges show information such as the battery indicator. We’re guessing it can show other information such as text messages, calls, or information from apps.

Specs-wise, the BlackBerry Priv sports a 5.4-inch dual-curved screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). A physical QWERTY keyboard slides out of the smartphone’s chassis. If you want to use an on-screen virtual keyboard, the Priv offers this as well. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor (two cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.44 GHz, and an Adreno 418 GPU to handle graphics), coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The Priv’s camera combo consists of an 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-flash camera, OIS, and is certified by Schneider-Kreuznach and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. The Priv comes with 32 GB of internal storage. If you’re looking for more storage options, it does come with  microSD support (as much as 2 TB). To keep the lights on for a very long time, the device offers a massive 3,410 mAh battery that offers longer battery life. It runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box.

BlackBerry previously explained  that the Priv was designed with privacy in mind. It comes with an early warning DTEK system that warns users when their privacy has been compromised.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus pre-orders to start in South Korea on August 20?

According to a report,  the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (phablet version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge) will be available for pre-order soon in South Korea.

This is according to The Korea Times. It reports that Samsung will be putting the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus up for pre-order on the 20th of August.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, it sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 4-protected screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (QHD), a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, 32 GB to 64 GB of internal storage, no microSD card slot, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with a Mali-T760 MP8 GPU to handle graphics, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It will be 6.9 mm thick and weigh in at 156 g. It will be 7.6 mm thick and weigh in at 169 g. It will run Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box It will not come with an S Pen. Like the S6 and S6 Edge, it will be clad in metal and glass for that more premium look and feel.

UK retailers put Sony XPERIA Z3+ up for pre-order

Wondering when the newly unveiled Sony XPERIA Z3+ will be available for pre-order in the UK. The answer to that question is now. Four retailers have set the smartphone up for pre-order.

These retailers include Amazon, Clove, Handtec, and Mobile Fun. Amazon is asking £549.99 for the XPERIA Z3+, Clove wants £549.00, Handtec wants £545.99, and Mobile Fun is asking £549.00.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Sony XPERIA Z3+, the smartphone sports a a 5.2-inch Triluminos screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 32 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (support for as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a 2,930 mAh battery. It has an IP 65/68 rating for dust and waterproofing. IP68 means that the phone can be submerged in water as deep as 3 meters (9.8 feet) without getting damaged. It measures 146.3 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm and weighs in at 144 g. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
