Tuesday, March 31st, 2009The second of two new handsets announced for the Samsung Beat Edition series is the Samsung M6710 Beat Disc. A trimmed down version of the Samsung M7600 Beat DJ in terms of spec, the Samsung M6710 still enjoys a full range of advanced music features but without the inclusion of the DJ mixer application that’s sporting by its older brother.

A touchscreen slider the Samsung M6710 Beat Disc features Bang & Olufsen audio technology, a 2.6 inch QWVGA TFT half touch screen display that delivers vivid imagery, DISC UI music interface and a high quality 3 mega pixel camera for snapping great pictures and video clips of friends and family doing the funniest things.

Sporting quad band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE data technology, the Samsung Beat Disc M6710 also offers dual band UMTS support with HSDPA high speed data connectivity with download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps as well as stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and USB 2.0. With data sharing made easy the Samsung Beat Disc lets you transfer data in just a few clicks and with support for up to 16GB of memory there’s even more room for saving music and photos.

The 3.5G enabled slider with its advanced MP3 music player and additional features is the perfect choice for even the most dedicated of music listeners creating solid competition for the likes of the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music phone.
Boasting a built-in accelerometer sensor the Samsung M6710 Beat Disc also features intergrated stereo FM radio with RDS, support for JAVA and email, 3.5mm AV connector and document viewer. There’s no word on pricing yet but the Samsung M6710 should be available from the second quarter 2009.
