HTC HD7S to Upgrade HTC HD7 Windows 7 Phone

The HTC HD7 is not one of the more well known models of HTC phone in the UK partly due to the scepticism surrounding the new Windows Phone 7 OS that just hasn’t really been embraced in the UK.

You might have thought that with this in mind that the manufacturer would have gone all out to super-improve the model in its upgrade but you may be disappointed as the new HTC HD7S not only looks very similar but quite frankly is almost the same phone.

HTC HD7S

The HTC HD7S does include some upgraded tech including a new super AMOLED touch screen and a new version of the Windows Phone 7 software which includes copy and paste, however aside from these enhancements the rest of the features remain very much the same.

Sporting a 4.3 inch screen, 1GHz processor, 5.0 mega pixel camera and 16GB of internal storage the HTC HD7S is a very minor upgrade and many are thinking that it might have been a quick adjustment so that carriers other than T-Mobile USA will be able to offer the phone, in particular AT&T.

The lack of popularity of the current HTC HD7 might be down to the fact that it is still an O2 network exclusive phone, once the shackles are off and it is offered on competing networks there is a chance that it could make a name for itself as a top end WP7 device.

That said, the Orange network exclusive HTC Mozart plus other mid range WP7 devices such as the HTC Trophy are seeing good sales volumes so there’s hope for the top end of this category as yet.
