Look, no keys! Even some of the most expensive touch screen phones have at least one main navigational key but the amazing new Alcatel 708 opts instead for a full touch screen experience with a further touch pad beneath. Like the Vodafone 541 the new Alcatel OT-708 is great for social networking and entertainment, there’s support for Facebook and other sites as well as an MP3 player for listening to your favourite songs.
You can snap pictures on the 1.3 mega pixel camera before uploading and sharing them with friends, and there’s no fiddly little icons to try and touch with the tip of your nail, the large touch screen is full of useful widgets which you can personalise putting your favourites on the home screen.
The large 2.4 inch screen produces a 240 x 320 pixel resultion, ideal for viewing web pages and emailing your friends, there’s also an accelerometer which changes the screen from portrait to landscape as you turn the phone for better viewing of photos and videos.
The Alcatel 708 also features an FM radio with RDS, miniUSB connectivity, GPRS and Bluetooth wireless technology.
Opinion:
Touch screen phones just got cheaper! The Alcatel OT-708 is ideal for those that work on a budget but don’t like to skimp on style and functionality, keeping up to date with friends via Facebook and sharing photos and videos is easy on the move. Ideal as a Christmas present or even a little gift for yourself.
