Sony XPERIA Z5 Plus to have 4K screen?
Most of today’s flagships offer QHD screens, which offer a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Sony fans were disappointed to find out the the Sony XPERIA Z3 Plus only comes with an FHD screen (resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels). According to a report, this is about to change as the unannounced XPERIA Z5 Plus is rumoured to sport a 4K screen.
The news comes to us courtesy of Xperia Blog. It spotted a user-agent profile, which mentions what is believed to be the Xperia Z5+. The said device is said to be Sony’s second flagship to be unveiled this year.
The UAProf mentions a Sony-made device with model number E68XX, which is said to be the unannounced XPERIA Z5 Plus. It will be available in a few variants, including the E6833, the E6853, and the E6883. It also mentions that the resolution of the smartphone’s screen, which is 2160 x 3840 pixels. This is definitely higher than the 1440 x 2560 pixels offered by today’s flagships. According to Xperia Blog, the device will sport a 5.5-inch screen with a whopping pixel density of 801 ppi.
The UAProf also mentions that the XPERIA Z5 Plus will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, which is the same CPU under the hood of the XPERIA Z3 Plus. Sadly, this CPU caused overheating problems for Z3 Plus owners. We’re hoping Sony addresses this issue before rolling out the Z5 Plus.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this information with a pinch of salt.
