Sony XPERIA Z5 series with “greater focus” teased on Twitter
We have recently been treated to a number of leaks concerning Sony’s upcoming XPERIA Z5 series (XPERIA Z5, XPERIA Z5 Compact, and XPERIA Z5 Plus). Now, the Japanese device maker has teased that a new smartphone with “greater focus” is coming soon. Could this be the rumoured XPERIA Z5 series, expected to make its official debut this year?
Mystery XPERIA smartphone with “Greater Focus”
We’ve known for quite some time now that Sony will be present at the IFA 2015 trade show, which kicks off in early September in Berlin, Germany. Now, Sony XPERIA GB has announced that its press event at IFA 2015 will take place on the 2nd of September.

Sony says that XPERIA fans should “get ready for a smartphone with a greater focus,” adding that “all will become clear on 02.09.2015.”
Sony also includes a photo in the tweet, showing a blurred out smartphone. Initially, we thought the photo showed the regular sized XPERIA Z5. However, judging from the size of the smartphone compared to the hand, it is likely that the photo is showing the smaller XPERIA Z5 Compact. It’s either that or the hand model used has really large hands, making the Z5 look smaller. Whatever the case, it shows that the smartphone’s camera can easily focus on an object even at night or in poor light conditions.
To recap, past rumours have claimed that the XPERIA Z5 will sport a 5.5-inch screen, while the XPERIA Z5 Compact will come with a 4.7-inch screen.
Going back to the teaser, it’s clear that Sony’s upcoming XPERIA smartphone will come with some type of advanced autofocus system. Sadly, this special autofocus feature is yet to be determined, but we’re sure to find out more in the next few days.
We are also hoping that Sony’s upcoming XPERIA Z5 series will come with the Sony IMX240 sensor, which is used by the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Lastly, we hope that the new smartphones will offer updated camera software.
For now, this is all just speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt. Fortunately, IFA 2015 is just a few days away, so we won’t have to wait very long to find out which rumours are accurate and which rumours were simply rumours, so stay tuned.
