Leaked renders reveal 6-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus
Over the past few months, rumours concerning the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S7 have been circulating. We’ve learned what the device has to offer under the hood, with the smartphone allegedly gone through tests on various benchmark sites. It is yet to be determined, however, what the smartphone will look like, until now.
Case maker ITSkins is responsible for leaking the renders seen above. Currently, the renders can no longer be found on the the case maker’s site. This, however, hasn’t stopped the internet from saving copies of the renders.
The renders, if genuine, reveals a device that looks a lot like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S6. It shows the same camera bump, LED flash, heart rate monitor, and the same 5.1-inch screen. Past reports revealed that Samsung Galaxy S7 will not be redesigned from the ground up. The only noticeable difference shown by the renders is the home button. It is now more rectangular in shape. The S6 features a rather rounded home button.
The renders also reveal dimensions. The Galaxy S7 measures 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm, making it around the same size as the Galaxy S6 at 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. This would mean that the S7 will be slightly thicker than the S6. The 5.7-inch Galaxy S7 Edge Plus is said to measure 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 mm.
The renders also reveal the Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus. It measures 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82 mm, making the device bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus. These measurements indicate that the S7 Plus will sport a 6-inch screen.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the Samsung Galaxy S7 on the 21st of February in Barcelona, Spain, a day before MWC 2016 kicks off. We’ll find out by then if the rumours are true or not.
