LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) to be put up for pre-order on Oct 13

We’ve learned from previous reports that Google will be lifting the lid on two new Nexus devices on the 29th of September. These include the Nexus 5X made by LG and the Nexus 6 (2015) made by Huawei. Now that we know when the search giant is planning to officially unveil the two devices, the question is, when will they be available for pre-order? According to a new report, they will be put up for pre-order on October.

The new rumour comes to us courtesy of TalkAndroid. According to the report, the LG Nexus 5X smartphone and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) phablet will be available for pre-order on the 13th of October, which is two weeks after the device’s official announcement.

To recap, the LG Nexus 5X smartphone’s rumoured specs include a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Under the hood is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53, two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. In the camera department, the device is said to come with a 13-megapixel with OIS and 5-megapixel camera combo.

As for the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015), it is said to come with a 5.5-inch or a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Under the hood is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. There are reports that claim that the Google and Huawei are planning to swap the Snapdragon 810 for the Snapdragon 820, but we’re not sure if this is accurate since the later will not be available until the first quarter of 2016. Moving forward, other rumoured specs include 64 GB of internal storage and a 3,500 mAh battery to keep the device going for a long time.

Both device are expected to run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. Like every other Nexus device, no custom UI like Samsung’s TouchWiz or HTC’s Sense will be slapped on top of Android. Both are also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the devices. If ever the two make their official debut on the 29th of September, this is the first time Google unveils two Nexus smartphones at the same in one year.

Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
