LG V10 unveiled
The LG V10 is the first to be a part of LG’s new V series. Like other devices, it comes with a main screen, but, what makes this device unique is a secondary screen. It shows things like the time, date, weather, and the battery icon when the main screen if off. It can be made to run shortcuts or run your favourite apps, when the main screen is on. It also shows notifications such as texts or calls, without interrupting activities such as watching videos. The secondary screen can be “always on” without draining the battery.
As for the LG V10’s specs, it sports a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). This works out to a pixel density of 513 ppi. The second 2.1-inch screen has a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. This works out to a pixel density of 513 ppi. The device offers 64 GB of internal storage. If more storage is needed, the phablet comes with a microSD card slot (as much as 2 TB). Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Its camera combo includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture and OIS 2.0 and dual 5-megapixel front-facing camera that allow users to snap a 120 degree wide angle selfie. To keep the lights on, it features a 3,000 mAh removable battery. The LG V10 runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. Other features include 4G LTE-A (Cat.6), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and USB 2.0. It is 8.6 mm-thick and weighs in at 192 g. It comes with a stainless steel frame.
A third party lab claims that the LG V10 is “MIL-STD-810G Transit Drop Compliant,” which means that the phablet can withstand the usual bumps and drops. Additionally, the Dura Skin cover prevents scratches. It also provides users with a better grip.
Colour options of the LG V10 include Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue, and Opal Blue. It will be available in the following markets: US, China, and other key markets in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
