HTC Wildfire S Release Date Confirmed
HTC are following on from the hugely successful, mid range HTC Wildfire with the new HTC Wildfire S which further improves on the pocket friendly phones features with a similar design that doesn’t take it too far from the original model.
The HTC Wildfire S has had its release date confirmed as a SIM free phone on May 16th 2011, this is for an unlocked edition of the Wildfire S with no network branding however this new HTC phone will most definitely be available before this date with network contract deals although exact release dates are yet to be announced.

The HTC Wildfire S has Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity along with microUSB for fast and easy file sharing and syncing capabilities between your phone and other compatible devices. Much like the best selling HTC Desire and previous HTC Wildfire it also comes with a 5 megapixel camera for image and video capturing too.
The handset also comes with an internal GPS receiver as with other HTC phones including the Desire respectively, and also a digital compass allowing you to download location based apps. Examples include Places on Facebook for checking in with friends when you get to a location, and Google Maps which is preloaded and offers places of interest and directions between two places including street views. Other impressive apps can be downloaded from Android Market also, as with the HTC Desire.
The Wildfire S is running Android and the Sense user interface, it also has combined hardware including 512 megabytes of random access memory and read-only memory respectively, while also being powered by a 600 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The HTC Wildfire S comes with great connectivity including Bluetooth 3.0 with the file transfer protocol (FTP) for close proximity file sharing as well as fast syncing through the microUSB. For headsets there is also the wireless stereo audio Bluetooth profile A2DP, as an alternative to using standard headphones and the 3.5mm jack connector.
The phone also has great integrated social networking with Facebook and Twitter apps available, as well as Peep for fast tweeting. Meanwhile, the Sense experience places friends birthdays and latest statuses or tweets next to their profile photos and more via the Friend Stream app also preloaded, as with the current HTC Desire.
Both audio and video playback are possible with the handset as well as slideshow viewing of photos. The handset allows you to capture videos and photos respectively using the 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and also a flash. Media can be stored on the microSD card expandable memory which offers up to 32 gigabytes of space, as well as being instantly shared with friends through the integrated social networking, multimedia messaging or the unified email client provided.
