Google’s Sept 29 event now official – expect the official unveiling of the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P
Previous reports have revealed that Google will be hosting a press event on the 29th of September. The search giant has just made its press event on the said date official, AndroidCentral has revealed.
LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P coming?
Google’s press event will take place at 9 a.m. PT on the 29th of September. Google did not reveal what it has in store for us on that particular date, but we have learned from previous rumours that we should expect the LG-made Nexus 5X smartphone and the Huawei-made Nexus 6P phablet at the upcoming event.
What we know so far
The LG Nexus 5X smartphone is expected to offer a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). In the photography department, the device is said to sport a 13-megapixel rear-facing with OIS (optical image stabilisation) and a 5-megapixel selfie-centric front-facing camera combo. The smartphone is said to be available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options. Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53, two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. To keep the lights on, the Nexus 5X is said to come with a 2,700 mAh battery. It is said to support Cat. 6 4G LTE connectivity, and run an unadulterated version of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.
As for the Huawei Nexus 6P, the phablet is said to sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). In the photography department, the device is said to sport a 12-megapixel rear-facing and an 8-megapixel selfie-centric front-facing camera combo. For your storage needs, the phablet is said to offer 32 GB of internal storage. Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. To keep the lights on, the phablet is said to come with a 3,500 mAh battery. Like any Nexus device, the Nexus 6P will run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in stock form.
Google has officially announced that it will be hosting a press event towards the end of the month, where the LG Nexus 5X smartphone and the Huawei Nexus 6P phablet are expected to make their official debut, but when will the the two be available for pre-order? Past reports have revealed that the two will be available for pre-order via Google Play on the 13th of October.
