HTC Touch 2 Review
Saturday, November 21st, 2009The HTC Touch2 is a new HTC handset that oozes style. It is one of a breed of smart phones from HTC that has won favour with the consumer. The HTC Touch 2 comes with numerous functions and a raft of additional extras such as an organizer and voice memo facilities, which enhances the handset even further. Much like the other phones in the HTC range this handset is comfortable to hold and simple to use, its usefulness seems to know no bounds. The phone utilities the Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor as its main processor which is perfectly accompanied by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

This latest HTC phones display screen is an extremely colourful 2.8 inch TFT resistive touch screen. It offers excellent colour reproduction due to the fact that it can display 65,000 colours and their variants. As its primary means of navigation around the variety of functions the phone offers TouchFLO 3D finger swipe navigation as well as a touch sensitive zoom bar. The inclusion of an accelerometer sensor offers the ability to automatically alter the aspect of images to their correct aspect. In addition the handwriting recognition feature offers speedy data entry.
The HTC Touch 2 comes with a 3.15 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This resolution of camera is good enough to take effective snapshots and the quality of the print out is good. As with most phones nowadays the option of video capture is also available on this phone, this provides a viable alternative to static imagery and further enhances the viability of this phone. Video capture is at CIF quality and at 30 frames per second.
The phone comes with a multitude of connectivity options which includes GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections. Internet access is available at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps through the HSDPA connection, whilst the Wi-Fi connection offers access through hotspots. Blue tooth and miniUSB are also included and provide the means for file sharing and synchronization with a PC if required. The GPS with A-GPS support feature offers satellite navigation as and when desired.
The HTC Touch2 is a compact and competent unit which measures 104 mm x 55 mm wide and is 12 mm wide. The handset offers a vast array of functionality which also includes an MP3/MP 4 player as well as pocket office versions of Word and Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The handset is also available in black and brown and since it’s launch in September 2009 has become a popular handset.
