Render leaks Huawei Nexus 6P colour options

Google has announced that it will be hosting a press event on the 29th of September (less than a week away). At the event, we’re expecting to see the Huawei Nexus 6P make its official debut, which has been the subject of countless leaks in the past few months. Now, a new leak reveals more about the phablet’s colour options.

Android Police is responsible for this latest leak and is the same site that has been actively leaking information on the upcoming Huawei-made Nexus phablet. The render above shows that the Huawei Nexus 6P will be available in white, black, gold, and aluminium/silver. Previously, we learned that the phablet will be available in white and sliver, but this is the first time we’re seeing the gold and black colour options.

So far, we’ve learned from previous leaks that the Huawei Nexus 6P will sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Internal storage options are said to include 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB versions. Unfortunately, this also suggests that there will be no support for a microSD card, as it would make sense for Google to make Nexus owners use its cloud services instead of using a microSD card. Its camera combo consists of the 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with laser autofocus assist and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera. Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Of course, like all Nexus devices before it, the Nexus 6P is expected to run an unadulterated version of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. Other rumoured specs include dual front-facing speakers, a fingerprint sensor found on the back of the device, and the new USB Type-C reversible connector, which means no more plugging in the connector the wrong way.

Google is expected to lift the lid on not one but two new Nexus devices on the 29th of September, which is the first time the search giant will introduce two new Nexus devices. The other device is the unannounced LG Nexus 5X smartphone. The two new Nexus devices are expected to be put up for pre-order on the 13th of October.

Is this the press render of the unannounced Huawei Nexus 6P?

In the past few weeks, we’ve been coming across a number of leaks involving the unannounced Huawei-made Nexus 6P, Google’s next Nexus phablet. Now, alleged press renders of the device have surfaced online, which give us a sneak peek on the front and back of the device.

Leaked render

Android Police, a site who has been actively leaking information on the two yet to be announced Nexus devices, is responsible for leaking the renders you see above. Apart from revealing the design of the front and back of the phablet, the renders also show that the device will sport speakers found on the top and bottom of the screen. The render that shows the back of the device shows the fingerprint scanner and the camera and LED flash located within a black bar.

Rumoured specs include a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Storage options are said to include 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB versions. In the photography department, the phablet is expected to come with a 13-megapixel rear-facing and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera combo. Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It is said to measure 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6 / 8.5 mm. Like previous Nexus devices, the Nexus 6P will run the latest version of Android. In this case, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with no custom UI slapped on top.

So when do we get to see the phablet in the flesh? Google has announced that it will be holding a media event on the 29th of September. There, we are expecting to see the Huawei Nexus 6P phablet to make its official debut. The unannounced LG Nexus 5X is also expected to make its official debut at the event. We’ve learned from previous rumours that the two Nexus devices will be put up for pre-order on Google Play on the 13th of October. Pricing is yet to be determined.

AndroidPolice is responsible for leaking the press renders seen above. The said site was also responsible for leaking the renders that showed the colour options of the Huawei Nexus 6P phablet. It has also been busy leaking information on the two devices as of late.

The press renders reveal that the LG Nexus 5X will be available in the following colour options: white, black, and a mint blue-green colour option, which was by an Amazon listing to be called “Ice Blue.” This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the last colour, as a photo of device in the Ice Blue has been leaked before.

To recap, the LG Nexus 5X is expected to sport a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). Its camera combo is said to consist of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. In terms of storage space, the smartphone is expected to be available in 16 GB and 32 GB versions. Under the hood is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808, which is a 64-bit hexa-core (six cores) processor (maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz) with an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. To keep the lights on, the smartphone is expected to feature a 2,700 mAh battery. The smartphone is also expected to sport the new USB Type-C port, which is reversible meaning users never have to worry about plugging in the microUSB the wrong way. Lastly, the Nexus 5X is said to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It is expected to run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.

Google has announced that it will be hosting a press event on the 29th of September. Although the search giant hasn’t confirmed what to expect at the event, we’re expecting it to lift the lid on the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P at the said event. We’ve also learned from past reports that the two will be put up for pre-order via Google Play starting on the 13th of October.

Google’s upcoming phablet to be called “Nexus 6P?”

Past rumours have revealed that Google will be introducing two new Nexus devices, a smartphone and a phablet, this year. We’ve learned that the smartphone will be called the “LG Nexus 5X,” but what about the phablet? A new report is claiming to know what the Huawei-made device will be called.

Huawei Nexus 6P?

huawei-nexus

The report comes from Droid Life. It reports that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015), a name dubbed by the press, will be unveiled as the “Huawei Nexus 6P.” The site notes that the name is still subject to change, but it reckons that “Nexus 6P” will be the device’s final name. It also reaffirms that the smartphone’s name will be the “LG Nexus 5X.”

To refresh your memory about the Huawei Nexus 6P, previous reports have revealed that the device is known internally as the “Angler” (codename). We’ve also learned that the phablet is rumoured to sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). It is also said to measure 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6 / 8.5 mm, which would mean that the device would be slim, but wouldn’t be bulky either.

As for its processor, it is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM under the hood. We’re hoping Huawei has resolved the Snapdragon 810’s overheating issues, since the CPU did cause problems for HTC One M9 and Sony XPERIA Z3 Plus owners.

32 GB of internal storage is said to be on board, but the device is not likely to come with a microSD card slot, as the Motorola-made Nexus 6 did not come with the feature.

Its camera combo is said to consist of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera.

The Huawei Nexus 6P is expected to run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.

Both the Nexus 6P phablet and the Nexus 5X smartphone are expected to come with a fingerprint scanner found on the back.

So when will Google lift the lid on the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X? According to past reports, the Search giant will be hosting a press event on the 29th of September, where it is expected to officially announce the two new Nexus device. The new Nexus devices are said to be available via the Google Play Store starting on the 13th of October.
