If an Android-powered high-end slider made by BlackBerry is appealing to you, you can pre-order the SIM free version of the device from BlackBerry UK for £559.00 (VAT included). According to BlackBerry, the Priv will start shipping out to people who pre-ordered the smartphone on the 9th of November.

Since BlackBerry is yet to reveal all of the device’s features, you must be wondering if the curved screen on board the Priv serves a purpose. The good news is it does. According to a recent leak, the edges show information such as the battery indicator. We’re guessing it can show other information such as text messages, calls, or information from apps.

Specs-wise, the BlackBerry Priv sports a 5.4-inch dual-curved screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). A physical QWERTY keyboard slides out of the smartphone’s chassis. If you want to use an on-screen virtual keyboard, the Priv offers this as well. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor (two cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.44 GHz, and an Adreno 418 GPU to handle graphics), coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The Priv’s camera combo consists of an 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-flash camera, OIS, and is certified by Schneider-Kreuznach and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. The Priv comes with 32 GB of internal storage. If you’re looking for more storage options, it does come with  microSD support (as much as 2 TB). To keep the lights on for a very long time, the device offers a massive 3,410 mAh battery that offers longer battery life. It runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box.

BlackBerry previously explained  that the Priv was designed with privacy in mind. It comes with an early warning DTEK system that warns users when their privacy has been compromised.
