Rumour: Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge pricing, microSD card slot, and screen sizes allegedly confirmed
These days, the internet is filled with leaked information about the yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. This day is no exception, as new report re-confirms what we’ve been hearing in the past, plus a few more new details about two of the most hotly-anticipated devices of this year.
Pricing, microSD card slot, and screen sizes
This new report comes from SamMobile, a highly reputable site that is renowned for leaking accurate information on anything Samsung-related. According to its “source inside the supply chain,” a few of the things we’ve been hearing online are accurate.
One is a microSD card slot. To everyone’s delight (including ours) the source re-confirms that both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will allow users to make use of a microSD card, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that didn’t come with the feature.
The source also re-confirms screen sizes. According to him (or her) the Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature a 5.1-inch screen, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will rock a larger 5.5-inch screen. This lines up with leaked schematics and panels of the two devices.
Here’s where it gets interesting. According to the source, the 32 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 will cost €699 (around £525), while the 32 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will set buyers back €799 (around £600). As for the 64 GB versions of the two, the source says that the two will be anywhere from €70 (around £52) to €80 (around to £60) more expensive than their 32 GB counterparts.
Wait! There’s more. We know that Samsung is planing to lift the lid on its next flagship on the 21st of February in Barcelona, Spain. However, the question is, when will the two be available in stores? Earlier reports claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge would be available in the same month they make their official debut. Recent reports claimed that the two would launch in mid-March. According to the source, the two will be available in February – the same month they make their official debut. This would mean that the S7 and S7 Edge would be available less than a year after the S6 and S6 Edge were launched (April of last year).
Of course, since Samsung is yet to officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, take this information with a pinch of salt.
