Poll says a quarter of iPhones have broken screens

According to a new poll, as much as a quarter of iPhones in the wild have broken screens.

MobileInsurance.co.uk asked 2,471 iPhone owners if their handsets had broken displays. 23% answered yes. On average, people put up with their iPhone’s broken screens for six months.

A lot of the iPhone owners didn’t have the time to have their phones fixed, while around the same amount of owners said that weren’t insured, didn’t have the money to have it fixed, or simply didn’t mind at all. 31% of the owners with broken displays said they probably wouldn’t bother having it fixed.

What’s the moral of the story? Have your phone insured. Phones, no matter how low-end or high-end, are susceptible to the unforeseen accidents. Every phone owner has dropped, bumped, scratched, and damaged their phone at one point or another. This will happen no matter how careful you are with your gadgets. So have your phone insured, especially if it’s a high-end handset such as the iPhone 5. What’s the point of having the most cutting-edge in mobile technology if you can’t make the best out of it?
