Last month we saw the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas and without question one of the stand out products that was on display at the event was the new Sony Xperia Z. This new smartphone is set to be the flagship model in the company’s range and ever since CES consumers across the globe have been eager to get their hands on the device. Sony’s website in the UK is now showing this model meaning that UK consumers will not have long to wait until the handset goes on sale.
We have heard details about the new Sony Xperia Z getting closer to release in a number of countries across the globe and now the UK can add their name to this growing list. The official Sony site in this country have now published details about the handset including what the phone will cost SIM free. On the website the phone is not given an official release date but it does say coming soon and interested consumers can put their names down and Sony will e mail with release details when they are announced. The new model is listed as costing £529 but as we edge closer to a launch date expect numerous network providers to be offering some great packages on the model. Three colours are listed on the Sony site with an interesting Purple version listed alongside the now customary black and white options.
At look over the specification of the new Sony Xperia Z shows that consumers can expect an array of great features for the premium price that the phone attracts. Perhaps one of the most unusual aspects about this new model is that the phone is IP57 certified meaning it is classified as resistant to both dust and water. This is an unusual feature for a smartphone and is sure to be highlighted on much of the marketing for the model. The Xperia Z is also the latest in a succession of new devices to boast a 1080P screen. The HTC Butterfly and the Samsung Galaxy S4 are also set to offer this standard of resolution. The screen on the phone will measure 5 inches in size and include the Bravia Mobile Engine 2 to further improve image quality. Performance speeds should be superb thanks to a powerful quad core processor while a 13 mega pixel camera is accompanied by a .2 mega pixel front facing facility.
The Sony Xperia Z looks set to be arriving in the UK very soon and we will keep you updated with pricing and deals on this phone as soon as they are announced.
