The Samsung Galaxy S3 Boosts 2012 Sales For The Company

It seems that the current smartphone market is dominated by two companies and this has been the case for the past few years. Apple and Samsung seem to have broken away from the other manufacturers and currently lead the way. During 2012 it has now emerged that Samsung shifted more handsets than its rival thanks to popular devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2.galaxy s3

Latest reports are suggesting that Samsung where the most popular phone producer in 2012 and sales of their devices are way ahead of what Apple could manage during the same period. Over the twelve month period a massive 700 million phones were shipped by Samsung, an increase on 2011 figures but also a smaller growth than the company enjoyed in that period. Looking at smartphones in particular the Korean giants managed to ship a huge 213 million devices including the best selling Samsung Galaxy S3 and this has meant that their current market share of this sector stands at 30 per cent. Apple will also be pleased with the 135.8 million iPhone handsets that they shipped which equates to a 19 per cent share and a massive 46 per cent rise on 2011 figures. Nokia claimed 5 per cent of the phone market, a big decrease on the 15 per cent that they enjoyed the previous year.

It is evident that the success of Samsung over the past twelves months is thanks to their superb range of smartphones that cater for all areas of the market. The big seller for the company over the last year was the Samsung Galaxy S3, the phone introduced to step into the shoes of the best selling Galaxy S2. The model has been a global sensation with consumers everywhere attracted to the high quality 4.8 inch display and the powerful quad core chipset. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini was introduced later in the year for consumers wanting great specification blended with a compact design while the Galaxy Note 2 offers the ultimate in screen size and processing power for the true Android fanatics.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has played a major part in the 2012 success that Samsung have enjoyed as have the other superb handsets that make up the companies product portfolio. Hopes are high for 2013 too as we prepare to welcome the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3.
