The HTC M7 has been subject to numerous rumours and plenty of speculation in recent weeks. The device is set to be the Taiwanese manufacturer’s latest flagship smartphone model, replacing the HTC One X+ which currently holds the title.
Although the HTC M7 has not yet officially been announced by its manufacturer, a quick internet search will reveal leaked photos and articles about its specifications. The HTC M7 is not the first phone to have been leaked before its announcement recently. Recent examples include the Sony Xperia Z and the HTC Droid DNA.
The HTC M7 certainly appears to have what it takes to be the manufacturer’s next flagship phone, with a spec list which looks like it could even rival the likes of the Apple iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3. Key features of the device include an 8 megapixel camera, 4.7 inch display with a 1080p resolution, 1.5GHz quad-core processor and Beats Audio and a unique aluminium unibody design. It is also expected that the HTC M7 will ship with the Android 4.1 Jellybean OS, along with HTC Sense 5.0 which is the latest instalment of the manufacturer’s custom Android interface. Because information about the phone’s features is readily available, speculation from fans has now largely turned towards the release date of the handset. Because the previous HTC flagship, the One X was unveiled at MWC 2012 in Barcelona last February, it is widely expected that the M7 will be announced at this year’s event. Should this be the case, we can expect the phone to be released in March or April. Of course, HTC will be keen to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is widely expected to dominate the market and is believed to be released in April.
As soon as information is made available about when the phone will be announced and released, as well as pricing of the device, we will be sure to keep you updated.
