The Samsung Galaxy S3 continues to be one of the best selling smartphone models on the market, despite being launched back in May 2012, and a number of notable competitors like the Apple iPhone 5 hitting the market. Of course, the success of the Galaxy S3 has led to widespread anticipation and rumours about its upcoming successor, the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Plenty of rumours are circulating around the internet about what features we are likely to see included on the Samsung Galaxy S4. Current speculation suggests that the phone will pack everything from an S-Pen stylus, 13 megapixel camera, 8-core processor and even a flexible screen. Of course, it is questionable whether some of these features will be included on the Galaxy S4, but a more recent rumour suggests that the phone may even include a wireless charging function.
This information comes by way of an article over at uSwitch, which claims a South Korean newspaper has suggested that the Galaxy S4 will sport wireless charging. It is entirely possible that the phone could have include this feature, as the technology has been around for a few years. However, wireless charging has not really become a mainstream feature in smartphone models, despite its convenience. Perhaps the most notable phone on the market currently which utilises wireless charging is the Nokia Lumia 920. As soon as it is released, we will bring you all the best deals on Samsung Galaxy S4 Contracts. In the meantime, check out our special offers on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Although very few phones offer this feature, wireless charging technology has advanced rapidly over the last couple of years. It is now possible for devices to charge wirelessly up to two metres away from a charging dock. Therefore, rather than being a gimmick, this feature has the potential to offer real convenience to users.
Of course, we will not know for certain whether or not the Galaxy S4 will include wireless charging functionality until Samsung officially unveils the phone. This is rumoured to take place at some point in Q2 this year, so until then we are likely to hear plenty more rumours about potential features of the phone.
