New Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 ad makes fun of Blackberry

Samsung is known for making fun of its rivals in its adverts. In the past, it made fun of Apple fans queuing for the iPhone 5. Now, in its new Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 ad, it takes a crack at Blackberry users.samsung_safe_blackberry

In Samsung’s ads, it never mentions its rivals’ devices, but it does make it pretty obvious. In this case, it mocks Blackberry’s rather dull image and says today’s businessmen can be hip as well.

The video shows game developers hard at work, preparing for the launch of their new game. At the same time, they try and convince the boring business type to make the switch to hip Samsung devices. In one scene, an employee watches a basketball game while attending to clients on his Galaxy Note 2, making fun of QWERTY-sporting Blackberry device. In another scene, an elderly businesswoman refuses to make the transition from her work phone (Blackberry) and home phone (iPhone) system to the more efficient one phone system offered by the Galaxy S3.

Samsung’s ad is promoting SAFE (Samsung Approved For Enterprise), which makes use of AES 256-bit encryption to keep work emails and files secure. It also allows colleagues to share their ideas via NFC and VPN.

Samsung’s ad couldn’t have come at a more convenient time, as RIM is scheduled to launch its much awaited Blackberry 10 software alongside two new handsets powered by the software, the Blackberry X10 and Z10.
