When the impressive Samsung Galaxy S3 was first unveiled back in May UK consumers looked forward to three different models hitting the shelves, each offering a different internal storage capacity. It seems however that only two of these handsets will be available in this market as we are still waiting for the 64GB version, a handset that may well never arrive.

The 64GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 may never make it to the UK due to a lack of demand from consumers. The two smaller versions of the phone have been selling in massive numbers but the premium device seems to have failed to attract much interest at all. Online retailer Clove actually began to take pre orders for this model and then made a U turn and took the decision not to stock the device. The company had vowed to make the model available if pre sales hit a desired target however this number was never reached and Clove opted to join other UK outlets in not selling the phone. A spokesperson from Clove commented “The wait will now continue for a handset that offers large internal and external (microSD) storage”.
In terms of specification this premium version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is identical to the more common 16GB and 32GB variety’s except for storage capacity. Thanks to much more competitive pricing on the two smaller models they have become an instant success with consumers. The Galaxy S3 has become a sensation since it was first released in May with over 30 million handsets already sold and hopes high for the phone to break through the magical 50 million barrier. The handset offers one of the best screens around in the shape of a Super AMOLED display measuring 4.8 inches. Other stand out features on the phone include an attractive design and a powerful quad core chipset that delivers excellent operation speeds.
The 16GB and 32GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 continue to sell well in the UK but consumers waiting for the 64GB model may need to look elsewhere for a model with larger storage. One option would be the iPhone 5 which has recently been released by Apple.
