Consumers that are fans of Windows phones now have a host of new devices to choose from which support the platform. Nokia, HTC and Samsung have all manufacturerd new devices which will fall in line with the launch of Windows 8. Those consumers which are not yet due an upgrade will be pleased to hear the recent news regarding a new Windows 7.8 update which will be available on handsets such as the Nokia Lumia 900.
We have recently seen on the Facebook networking site posts which relate to the Windows 7.8 update and this along with many leaked images that starting to pop up online showing screen grabs from a Microsoft presentation regarding the new software. Both of these now give us an idea of what the consumers can expect from this new software. Winp.CN posted the leaked images which show snippets of text along with shots of the new platform. The most appealing information that has been gained from these images is that there are some key areas from the new Windows 8 update which will also be included in the 7.8 software. Users will be able to decide what size application icons they would like on there display by choosing from the three options provided. They will also be able to customise their home and lock screens by deciding what live updates they would like to appear.
Devices such as the Nokia Lumia 900 are great for browsing the internet though the Windows 7.8 update will not feature the new Internet Explorer 10. Version 9 has however been dramatically improved by developers by giving users better browser security. Consumers will be able to change the appearance of the browser by choosing a theme from a selection of 20. These can be edited in the settings menu. There will also be the option to trim one of your favourite audio clips and use it as your ringtone or for alerts. This along with the new applications which will soon be available are sure to appeal to consumers. The new update will bring the handset much closer to new devices like the Nokia Lumia 920 in terms of features.
The great Nokia Lumia 900 will offer users the Windows 7.8 software update which encompasses some of the major improvements which will be offered by Windows 8. This will please fans of Windows devices who are not yet able to update their handset.
