Microsoft recently launched its new Windows Phone 8 operating system, and a handful of devices from Nokia, HTC and Samsung launched to showcase the software. It appears that it has lived up to the hype, was initial reports that the phone has sold very high volumes in a short space of time since its launch a couple of weeks ago.

The United States has also seen very strong sales of the Lumia 920. The handset is currently exclusive to AT&T in the US, which is one of the largest mobile network operators across the pond. This will certainly be very good news for Nokia, which has been somewhat pinning its hopes on the success of this device.
