Google may have been forced to cancel its event scheduled for today due to Hurricane Sandy, but this hasn’t stopped the new versions of the Google Nexus 7 from landing in UK shops. The new versions include a 32GB version and a version with 3G support.
With the 32GB and 3G versions now out, will this drive the price up? Well, not really. If you’re looking to get your hands on the 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7, it will set you back a mere £200. If you’re looking to get your hands on the 3G version, it will set you back a mere £240. We’re sure to find out more about the version with 3G support once network operator Three launches the device in a few weeks.
With these prices, then the Google Nexus 7 will really give the Apple iPad mini a run for its money. Google’s 7-inch tablet sports better specs, and the 32GB version will only set you back £200. The 32GB version of Apple’s 7.9-inch iPad, on the other hand, will set you back £350, which is £150 more for something that offers less other than more real estate.
Google was expected to lift the lid on the 32GB and 3G version of the Nexus 7 today alongside two other devices. The other two devices are the LG Nexus 4 (a new Nexus smartphone based on the specs of the LG Optimus G and the looks of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus) and the Nexus 10 (a 10.1-inch Nexus tablet made by Samsung.
If you’re looking to get your hands on the 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7, they are now available in UK shops such as Comet, Currys, and PC World. If you’re looking to get your hands on the 3G version, it will be sold on Google Play and Three in mid November.
