November looks set to be a busy month for Nokia. When the Windows 8 mobile platform finally launches they have two major new smartphones lined up in the shape of the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 and now it looks as though a third model will join them in the new look range.
We have seen much speculation about a new version of the entry level Lumia 610 for a while now with many of the reports suggesting that a new, revamped version would be introduced at around the same time as the new OS is launched. It now looks as though these reports will prove correct and that the model will arrive in the form of the new Nokia Lumia 510. The model will target consumers wanting a Windows handset but not wanting the premium prices that will be attracted by new phones such as the Nokia Lumia 920. Despite the introduction of the phone being timed to coincide with Windows 8, the model will not run on this platform. Instead Nokia will ship the phone with version 7.5 of the OS with an update coming soon that will upgrade the software to version 7.8 and deliver the new look user interface that is sported by version 8.0.
We have seen no official images of the new Lumia 510 although it is a fairly safe bet that the model will look very similar to other models in the Lumia range. A range of attractive colour options are also likely to be introduced. Other information has leaked about the phone and it seems that a 4 inch display will be incorporated. Being an entry level phone the resolution of this screen will not rival the more premium devices but the 800 x 480 screen will offer a very respectable pixel density and good quality. Operation speeds on the phone should also be good thanks to an 800Mhz processor being tucked away behind the scenes.
The new Nokia Lumia 510 will give Nokia great appeal at the entry level end of the market while some fantastic Nokia Lumia 920 Deals will appeal to those looking for a more premium device. Sandwiched between the two will be the Nokia Lumia 820, a mid range device which will strike the middle ground between the two phones.
