iBooks 3.0 Offer Improvements To Users Of The iPhone 5 And Other Apple Devices

The new iPhone 5 sports a large 4 inch display which makes the new phone more suited to a number of tasks than previous versions of the iPhone. One area that really benefits from this extra size is for reading publications on the handset and this is where the excellent iBooks software comes in handy. Apple have just released version 3 of the software with some neat improvements.

Over the past few years devices such as the Amazon Kindle and the Sony E Reader have achieved a large amount success so Apple introduced iBooks to try a deliver a similar experience to users of their devices. iBooks boasts a massive catalogue of over 1.5 million publications ranging from best selling novels to daily newspapers, all of which can be read via the iPhone or other Apple device. Apple have now launched version 3.0 of iBooks and one major change that is present is that the software now supports iCloud. For the user this means that any downloaded material can be stored in the iCloud, saving storage space on the device. It also enables multiple devices to access the publication. In addition to the books themselves iCloud can memorise reading progress so even if you change handsets you can pick up where you left off.

Another change present on this latest version of iBooks is to the scrolling system that users negotiate when reading material. On older versions of the software users would make a sideways gesture on the screen to turn the page. Apple have now introduced a continuous scrolling system which simply means that the page can be scrolled down and the pages will pop up as appropriate. This is a much more natural gesture to use when using devices such as the iPhone 5 and should prove popular with users of the software. Large screened devices such as the new iPhone and the iPad are obviously great for iBooks thanks to the large displays but even smaller screened devices such as the iPhone 4S really benefit from this super software.

iPhone 5 users who want to make the most of the excellent phone can update iBooks to version 3.0 now to see what this great piece of software has to offer.
