Developers all over the globe have been hard at work trying to jailbreak the new iPhone 5. One of the groups says that the jailbreak will be available soon.
The team that has almost cracked the new iPhone is the Chronic Dev Team. The team has almost finished their tethered jailbreak. However, they say that it was far from easy due to the phone’s operating system and its new chip.
A Chronic Dev team member, @planetbeing, posted on Twitter regarding the progress of the project. He said, “Upgraded the #failbreak with a kernel exploit so tweaks actually work on iPhone 5. Almost a full tethered JB, though need dev account.”
If you’re looking to jailbreak your iPhone 5, it would require you to set up a developer account. This means that the jailbreaking process is only open to the more experienced users. For average or novice users, you would have to wait a bit longer for a proper jailbreak to roll out.
We still don’t know when Chronic Dev Team plans to roll out a proper jailbreak for the iPhone 5, or any Dev team for that matter. However, since the team has said that a jailbreak that can be used by all is on the way, we can only say that it will come soon.
Although countless reviews say that the iPhone 5 is the best handset the iPad-maker has ever created, sporting a wider 4-inch retina display and a more powerful A6 processor, there are many users who would want to have more freedom with their phones. Due to this restricted user experience, jailbreaking iPhones is proving to be popular.
