Have you pre-ordered the Windows RT-powered Microsoft Surface tablet? If you have, we have bad news for you. The delivery date of the tablet has been held back for a week in the UK. Expected delivery date is now on the 2nd of November.
According to The Verge, the shipment of Windows 8-powered Surface tablets is being held at UK customs. Originally, the delivery date for the tablet was on the 26th of October, just a few days from now. But with this setback, the delivery date was pushed to the 2nd of November.
If you pre-ordered the tablet, check your email. Sending an email to customers who pre-ordered the device, Microsoft writes, “The release date for the preorder product has changed.
“The product listed below will now be available on 02 November 2012.”
For US customers who were late in pre-ordering the device, they will have to wait longer to get their hands on the Surface tablet. It’s US pre-order stock consisting of the 32GB and 64GB variants have now been listed as “sold out”. US customers who are interested in getting their hands on the Windows 8 tablet will have to wait for as much as three weeks for the device to be delivered.
With the Surface tablet proving to be a hot-selling device, It’s understandable why Apple is bent on stealing the limelight from Microsoft. The Cupertino firm has sent invitations to media for a special event that will be taking place on the 23rd of October, just a few winks away.
So what’s the iPhone-maker cooking up on its upcoming event? We’re expecting to see the lid lifted on the hotly-anticipated iPad mini, which is a smaller 7.85-inch version of the iPad.
