The brand new mini edition of the most popular Samsung phone of the year; the Galaxy SIII, has now been launched in the UK, the new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (model number i8190) is now available in Pebble Blue and Marble White colour schemes on pay monthly contract deals.
We’ve been waiting for official pictures of the Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 Mini for some time as Samsung only initially released images of the Marble White edition, but now we can see it in its full glory, the way to tell it apart from a quick look is the front facing camera is now situated to the left at the top of the phone as opposed to the right with the larger Galaxy SIII.
This smaller alternative to the more expensive and obviously much larger S3 manages to pack in some of the same great features including Smart Alert and Smart Stay, Direct Call, S-Voice recognition and S-Beam NFC connectivity but slims down its dimensions and weight to 121.55 x 63 x 9.85 mm and 111.5g by incorporating a smaller 4 inch Super AMOLED touch screen display.
Not needing the same processing power that the bigger 4.8 inch HD screen does of the Galaxy S3 the S3 Mini is lightening quick thanks to a dual-core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, the user experience is made even better as this new smart phone comes with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software already installed. (The Samsung Galaxy S3 will need to receive an update to the new Android 4.1 OS).
On the back of the phone is a 5 mega pixel camera shooting video at 720p and a further front facing lens takes care of video calling, inside there are multiple connection options including Wi-Fi, fast 3.5G support, GPS, Bluetooth and USB and the phone is powered by a good sized 1500mAh battery.
For those on a tight budget as well as anyone who prefers a smaller device to the recent surge in large screen phones the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is a very desirable looking handset that won’t hurt the pocket too much!
