Since its launch back in May the Samsung Galaxy S3 has proved a huge success with consumers and is generally regarded as the ultimate Android smartphone. A big attraction with the phone is the large 4.8 inch screen that it uses but this large display also makes the model quite physically large and some consumers demand a compact phone more like the iPhone 5. Samsung have responded by producing a new mini version of the Galaxy S3 and some UK networks are taking pre orders for this new device.
The new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini was only officially unveiled last week and already some UK network providers have announced deals. As one would imagine the smaller and lower resolution screen on this phone means that the model is cheaper than the Galaxy S3 and consumer can take advantage of some super deals where the handset will not cost a penny. O2 are offering consumers the chance to get this phone free with contracts from just £25 per month although the contract length is quite long at 24 months. The decision to introduce a miniature version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 may prove to be a very wise move from Samsung. There are plenty of smaller screened handsets around but many of them tend to offer more mid range specification. As far a large screened phones go Samsung is pretty well covered with the original S3 and the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The new S3 Mini will enable the company to cover the smaller end of the market and also to compete directly with the iPhone 5 with a phone offering an identically sized display.
