Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Now Has Split Screen Multitasking Thanks To Firmware Update

When the original Samsung Galaxy Note was released, it was something of a surprise hit.  Many people doubted that its large screen format would be a success, but 12 million sales later, a follow up device has been launched.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 hit the market in the United Kingdom last week after its debut in South Korea.  So far, it has received an excellent reception from consumers and critics alike on account of its outstanding specification lists.  Appeal has been further boosted thanks to the handset achieving top results in a battery test carried out by GSM Arena and a drop test by Android Authority.

Although the handset has only been on the market for a short period, Samsung has already released the first firmware update for the Galaxy Note 2.  It brings a much anticipated feature to the phone.  This is a multitasking interface which takes advantage of the 5.5 inches of screen space, and allows users to run two apps simultaneously side by side on the screen.  This feature was included in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but was only compatible with Samsung applications.  On the Galaxy Note 2, the interface can be used with a number of native Android and Google apps including YouTube, Gmail, Talk and Google chrome.

The spec list of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is arguably one of the finest out there.  As well as the aforementioned 5.5 inch super AMOLED HD screen, the handset is also equipped with an 8 megapixel camera, the latest Android Jellybean OS and the Galaxy Note’s trademark stylus pen called the ‘S-Pen’.  It also packs a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor which makes it the most powerful handset on the market currently.  This extra processing power will certainly come in handy for those who choose to take advantage of the new multitasking interface as it allows each app to run at the optimum levels of performance.

You can get your hands on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Deals from most major UK networks.  It is available and Titanium Grey and Marble White options, and each of these comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants, with a SIM free handset also available.
