Facebook has updated its Android Facebook Messenger app, back in the 20th of September. Now, the world’s most popular social network has done the same for its iOS app. It is also optimised for iOS 6 and Apple’s new kit the iPhone 5.
So what’s new with the iOS app. Facebook’s instant messenger for the iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone will now allow users to swipe to the left, which will show them who is online. This is a more convenient way to see which friend is online and who is available to chat with.
The update also makes it easier for you to find the friends that count the most. Users can now keep their best friends on top of their online list. This also means that you no longer need to scroll down through your contact list just to find your favourite friend. No longer do you need to strain your thumb looking for friends.
If you’re sick and tired of the old chat window, Facebook messages can now be seen as speech bubble. It now gives the instant messenger a fresh look. It now looks similar to SMS applications and iOS Messages.
Since Apple has recently released the iPhone 5, the new Facebook Messenger app is optimised for the phone’s widescreen 4-inch retina display. Aside from having more room for messages, it is also faster, more responsive, and more reliable. Lastly, the update fixes a number of bugs.
If you’re looking to get the updated version of Facebook Messenger for iOS, you can now get it from the Apple App Store.
