Samsung yet again makes fun of Apple fans. In its latest Galaxy S3 ad, it says, “The next big thing is already here”, and no it’s not the iPhone 5. Furthermore, the ad suggests that the new iPhone is for old people.
Although the iPhone 5 is not named, it’s pretty obvious that the crowd of people lining up outside are Apple fans. They talk about things like the earphone jack moved to the bottom of the device and the smaller dock connector.
In the video, a guy is thought to be lined up for the iPhone 5, but is really saving the spot for some people. Meanwhile, Apple fans are in awe when they see friends sharing a playlist from one S3 to another via the phone’s Android Beam feature (NFC). Towards the end of the ad, the guy who was saving a spot for some people was actually saving a spot for his parents, suggesting the new iPhone is for old folks.

When Samsung first made fun of Apple fans with the Galaxy S2, many may have found it amusing. It may have even inspired some Apple enthusiasts to get their hands on Samsung’s past flagship. This time, however, it may be seen as a sign of desperation.
Samsung was recently ordered by a jury to pay Apple over $1 billion in damages for patent infringement. To add more insult to injury, Apple sold out its iPhone 5 pre-order stock, which means it is on its way to becoming the best-selling smartphone of this year. If you’re planning to pre-order the new iPhone, the estimated delivery time was pushed back from 2-3 weeks to 3-4 weeks.
