Apple iPhone 5 Expected To Outsell The Competition

The Apple iPhone 5 is set to be launched tomorrow, and looks like it’s going to be the most successful product to date for Apple. Some people believe that it is capable of selling as many as 10 million units in its first week.

A number of industry experts and analysts believe ten million sales is easily achievable by the iPhone 5, assuming that there are no supply chain issues. A couple of years ago, this many sales in such a short space of time would have seemed impossible, but due to the marketing power of Apple, which is now the most valuable company in the world, it seems much more feasible. The iPhone 4S sold 4 million units in its first week, and this was essentially an upgrade to the iPhone 4. Therefore, many people are more likely to take the plunge and get their hands on the iPhone 5, as this is a completely new phone, with new larger screen, processor, upgraded operating system and of course many more features we are soon to find out about. Additionally the handset is getting released in the run-up to Christmas and was the last Apple product with direct involvement from Steve Jobs.

Apple has sent out invitations to the launch of the device which is set to take place on Wednesday, the 12th of September in San Francisco, California. The invitations have a large 12 on the front, which casts a shadow in the shape of a 5, obviously representing the launch and the model of the new iPhone. The iPhone 5 looks like it’ll be the phone to put Apple back on top of the smartphone market, after losing a substantial amount of market share to the likes of Samsung, especially after the launch of its popular Galaxy S3 model.
