The new Samsung Galaxy S3 ha some pretty big shes to fill. The predecessor to the phone, the Galaxy S2 broke a number of sales records but early reports suggest that the new S3 is on course to improve of the figures posted by the older model.

The 20 million figure does not relate to the number of handsets sold to consumers but rather the number that have been shipped to retailers and distributors. This however does illustrate the phenomenal demand for this phone. Since its launch the phone has already outsold the popular iPhone 4S in the united states. The Apple phone has proven the most popular device since its launch but in August the S3 knocked it from the top position. Industry experts have however stated that a drop in demand for the Apple phone may have been created by the impending launch of the new iPhone 5. Regardless of how popular the new iPhone 5 is, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a three month head start as it was released back in May and this may just prove a big enough gap to enable the phone to become the best selling phone of 2012.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has shifted a huge number of handsets since it release and this bodes well for the overall success of this model over coming months. The handset sports a stylish design and great specification and this is the main reason why consumers have gone mad for the super smartphone.
