Ice Cream Sandwich rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note in March
According to Samsung Norway, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be rolling out to the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Note in March. This was spotted by Pocketdroid on Samsung’s Facebook page.
Samsung Norway told fans that the two devices would be receiving the ICS update “at the end of the first quarter”. The update is expected to roll out to UK users at the same time as well.
Back in December, the Korean tech giant confirmed ICS would be rolling out to the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note, but failed to mention the specifics. Now, at least, we have something more concrete.
Although this is good news for Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note users, owners of the Galaxy Ace and the original Galaxy S must be drooling in envy. Samsung previously announced that these earlier models will not be getting ICS.
The Galaxy S2 was one of the best handsets released in 2011. Owners of this popular model will be thrilled to finally get to enjoy the best Google’s Android has to offer in March.
Excited to get Ice Cream Sandwich on your Samsung Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note by March, or did you expect the update sooner? Give us your thoughts.
