Sony XPERIA S release date and UK price confirmed
If you’ve been waiting for more news on the Sony XPERIA S release date and price in the UK, you’ll be happy to know the news has finally arrived. Sony’s first handset without the Ericsson moniker will be available on the 5th of March. It will set you back £429.99, inclusive of VAT, for the SIM-free version.
In the past, the phone was rumored to be the XPERIA Arc HD and Nozomi, which is the successor of the XPERIA Arc S. It was finally unveiled at CES 2012 as the XPERIA S. The handset is one of two phones to carry the Sony-only brand name; the other is the 4G XPERIA Ion.
Just as soon as the handset was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, Three and O2 were quick to announce that they would be carrying the new Sony smartphone. Soon after, Orange and T-Mobile announced that they would be selling the handset as well. The only network operator who has kept quiet about the XPERIA S is Vodafone.
The XPERIA S comes with stats that do not fail to impress. It sports a 4.3 inch display and a 12 megapixel camera. It packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor by Qualcomm, similar to the processor found on the HTC Sensation XE. However, with quad-core smartphones expected to be unveiled this year, will buyers still be interested in the first dual-core smartphone by Sony?
