Sony posts video explaining XPERIA S dual-core processor
After Sony unveiled the XPERIA S at CES in Las Vegas, the company conducted a poll asking Sony enthusiasts, “Which features do you want to see more of from the XPERIA S?” on their official Facebook page. A choice of four options was given, namely, 12 megapixel camera, HD record/playback, PlayStation-certified gaming, and the phone’s 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. Out of the 3,000 fans who took part in the poll, nearly 2,000 voted for the handset’s CPU.
Since the fan’s choice was unanimous, Sony posted a video explaining how powerful exactly the processor was, with the company’s Product Marketing Manager, Stephen Sneeden explaining it all.
According to Sneeden, the XPERIA S makes use of a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon, similar to the processor found on the HTC Sensation XE. He adds that the dual-core processor allows the phone to be more nimble when running applications.
When it comes to image capturing with its 12 megapixel camera, users will enjoy lightning-fast image capturing capabilities thanks to the phone’s processor. The phone can capture images sleep-to-shot at a mere 1.5 seconds and shot-to-shot in just 1 second.
With the phone’s powerful processor, users will get to enjoy faster video and music streaming. This is essential since the smartphone gives you access to Sony’s Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited services.
The Sony XPERIA S is scheduled to land in the UK in March.
