Samsung says Galaxy Nexus battery woes only affect an isolated few
The Korean tech giant Samsung has spoken about reports concerning the Galaxy Nexus’ charging problems. Speaking to CNET UK, Samsung said, “The number of official repair and complaint cases in the UK relating to problems with the battery power and charging of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are extremely low, therefore any reported cases are isolated.
“Any customers having problems with their device should contact Samsung’s technical support team who will be able to help.” So there you have it. Samsung seems to think the problem only affects a few Galaxy Nexus owners.
If you own Google’s current Android flagship without any battery issues, you might be wondering what the fuss is all about. Previously, a few owners reported their handsets not being able to charge or think they are charging even when the phone wasn’t plugged in.
Since the Galaxy Nexus is the first to feature Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), you might think that this is a software issue. After all, this is the latest iteration of Android and bugs are to be expected. However, there seems to be a problem with hardware rather than software. If you’re one of those experiencing battery problems with your Galaxy Nexus, Samsung advises its customers to contact their technical support team in order for them to address the issue ASAP.
The Galaxy Nexus is not the only current smartphone to experience battery woes. The first was the Apple iPhone 4S, and the second was the Nokia Lumia 800.
Are you one of the unfortunate few to experience battery issues on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus? Have you contacted Samsung’s technical support? Have they found a solution to your problem? Please let us know through a comment.
