Huawei Ascend P1 S – slimmest smartphone in the world with ICS onboard

If you thought the Motorola RAZR (7.1 mm thick) or Samsung Galaxy Nexus (7.0 mm at its slimmest point) was extremely slim, wait till you hear more about the Huawei Ascend P1 S which is making its first appearance at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. Furthermore, the smartphone also runs the latest iteration of Android right out of the box.

The Ascend P1 S is currently the slimmest smartphone in the world. It is a mere 6.68 mm slim. Despite its extremely slim profile, Huawei managed to pack in a 1.5 GHz dual-core OMAP 4460 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. This makes the handset the most compact and fastest in its class.

Other specs include a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Its display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass just like the Samsung Galaxy S2. It sports an 8 megapixel camera, which is capable of recording videos at 1080p. It also includes a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, which is capable of recording videos at 720p.

Huawei is also launching the Ascend P1 alongside the Ascend P1 S. It shares similar specs to the P1 S. The only difference is its thickness. It is slightly thicker at 7.69 mm.
