If you constantly logon to your Facebook account on your Samsung Galaxy S2, iPhone 4S, or Blackberry Bold Touch 9900, you’re not alone. In fact, according to Benedict Evans, an analyst at Enders Analysis, Facebook mobile users hit the 300 million mark on Christmas.
Data published by the analyst also revealed interesting facts. According to the study, there are more Android users who regularly logon to their Facebook accounts on their handsets compared to iOS users. This is the first time Facebook users on Android handsets have overtaken Facebook users on iOS devices. Surprisingly, there are also a lot of Blackberry users accessing their Facebook accounts from their smartphones, since Blackberry is still very popular among the youth in a few countries.
Aside from uncovering the dominant platform accessing Facebook from their phones, Evans also uncovered the amount of users who use apps to access the most popular social media network. Among mobile users, 70% access the social network via apps. Overall, 30% use apps to logon to Facebook.
