Images of Ice Cream Sandwich running on Huawei MediaPad leaked
PadCNMO, a Chinese tech website, has leaked images of the Huawei MediaPad tablet running an Android 4.0.1 (Ice Cream Sandwich) build. A similar build was seen running on the Chinese phone manufacturer’s smartphone the Honor back in December. Unfortunately, the company has not officially announced when Ice Cream Sandwich will be released for its 7 inch tablet. Although Huawei has not officially announced the rollout of ICS for its tablet, it’s likely that it will roll out sooner than later.
Having the MediaPad running Ice Cream Sandwich soon will do wonders for the company. If it updates its tablet before other Android tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Motorola Xoom, we’re sure it will land in the hands of many who want to experience ICS on a tablet.
Although the MediaPad is a budget tablet, it still takes performance to whole new heights. It packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM under the hood. Other specs include 32 GB microSD support, a 7 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.5 megapixel front-facing camera.
With all of that power, Ice Cream Sandwich, and a reasonable price to match, we’re sure the Huawei MediaPad will be a favorite among Android tablets.
