Analyst suggests Apple may sell 200 million iPhones in 2012
Do you think the Apple iPhone 3G S, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S are the most popular handsets in the market? MacRumors reports, renowned Morgan Stanley analyst, Katy Huberty, predicted that the Cupertino firm Apple may sell as much as 200 million iPhones next year. That’s definitely a massive amount of iPhones landing in the hands of eager Apple fans around the world.
According to MacRumors, Huberty had “historically been rather conservative in her predictions of Apple’s performance.” Since this is the case, she may have good reason to believe that Apple will sell a massive amount of smartphones in 2012.
Huberty’s predictions have recently been published on Fortune. Her analysis was based on a poll by Alphawise. If the prediction comes true, this would mean that Apple is to shift 100% more iPhones compared to 2011.
Currently, there have been 56 million iPhones reported to be sold around the world. This figure is expected to reach over 100 million by the end of this year.
Not only did Huberty predict overwhelming success of the iPhone in 2012, she also predicted more success for the iPad. She predicts that 80 million iPads will be sold in 2012. Currently, there have been 25 million iPads sold around the world. Apple is expected to sell an additional 14 million iPads by the end of this year.
Do you think Apple will sell twice as much iPhones in 2012? Give us your thoughts.
