Again we add up the total line rental costs over the 24 month period plus the upfront cost of the iPhone 4 and in this case the current cheapest overall deal is with Vodafone which interestingly is also the best deal for a free iPhone 4, available now on the Vodafone 300 tariff which includes 300 minutes of calls, unlimited text messaging and 500MB of data.

The current cheapest overall deal for the 8GB iPhone 4 is offered by Orange and costs just £20 per month with an upfront price of £59.99, this deal totals up to just £539.99 over the 24 month contract period but does not include large amount of usage, in fact unless you use just 50 minutes, 50 SMS and 100MB of data each month this tariff will end up costing you far more than just the line rental.

A better deal for average users has to be the cheapest free iPhone 4 8GB offer which comes in at £25 per month and includes 75 minutes of calls, 125 text messages and 250MB of data, again not ideal for a heavier user and we would probably recommend paying a little more per month to cover your normal usage amounts.
